VA BMX Team Series Rules
Team Rosters and Roster Changes

>        Virginia BMX Team Rosters for the racing season will be required by all teams and must be submitted to the State Commissioner no later than seven days prior to the team's first Virginia BMX Qualifier.  (Waived for 2011)Additions to a Team Roster must be submitted NO LATER THAN seven calendar days prior to the event in which the team intends to use the new rider (Friday Night of the prior week for a Saturday race).  All Team Rosters will be frozen at the end of the day of the third completed Virginia BMX qualifier.  Individual rider commitment forms will not be required.

>        A team must have a current Virginia BMX Team Roster on file to compete.

>        Team Rosters may have up to 25 riders listed.  All NBL classes are eligible - expert, challenger, girl, rookie, cruiser, and Elite.  A rider competing in two classes, i.e., challenger and cruiser, may only be on one Virginia BMX Team Roster at a time and will only be counted as one rider on that Team Roster.  That rider can compete in either class (but only one class) on a race day Team Sheet per the Team Sheet instructions provided below.

>        In the event a rider changes teams during the season, it is the rider's obligation to notify the Team Manager of the team the rider is leaving.  It is the obligation of the new team's Team Manager to notify the State Commissioner of the change by submitting a new Team Roster.  The rider's first eligibility to compete on the new team will be in the second Virginia BMX Qualifier following the change of teams.  Example: If a rider changes teams after the first Virginia BMX Qualifier, the rider will become eligible to compete for the new team starting with the third Virginia BMX Qualifier.

>        If a rider's name appears on more than one Virginia BMX Team Roster, the State Commissioner will resolve any dispute as to which team the rider is eligible to participate with.  Note that this may result in disqualification of the rider for the team's scoring during a Virginia BMX Qualifier.

Team Entry and Team Sheet Procedures

>        Any Team meeting Team Roster requirements may compete in any Virginia BMX event during the season.

>        Teams must complete and submit a Team Sheet at each Virginia BMX event in which they wish to be scored.  Team Managers may enter up to three Team Sheets in each daily race.

>        Completed Team Sheets must be submitted to the registration booth prior to the gate drop of the first Moto, NO EXCEPTIONS.  Upon submission, the Registration Clerk will initial each Team Sheet, keep two copies for Virginia BMX, and provide one copy back to the Team Manager.

>        Daily race Team Sheets must list at least three and no more than six riders selected from the Team Roster on file with Virginia BMX who are also participating in the daily race.  Four positions (1-4) can be filled with any racer from the Team Roster, with up to one of the four filled with a rider in the Expert class.  The last two positions (5-6) can be filled if the team enters a girl or girl cruiser (5) and cruiser or Elite class (Pro) rider (male or female) (6) - slot 5 must be filled in order to fill slot 6.

>        A rider may only be used once on each Team Sheet in only one racing class.  If two Team Sheets are submitted, riders in two classes may be entered on both Team Sheets as long as the rider is in a different class on each.

>        Team Fees are $10 dollars per Team Sheet for each Virginia BMX Qualifier and $10 per Team Sheet to compete in the Championship Final Event regardless of the number of riders listed on each Team Sheet.

>        There must be at least three (3) teams competing at a Virginia BMX Qualifier in order for a team to run a Team Sheet and have the score count towards the Team Series Championship.  Fees will be refunded to the teams that entered on time if there are less than three team entries at a daily event.
