Amateur racers earn Virginia BMX State Championship Series points in accordance with the 'NBL Local Award Point Chart' for each registered points class. Points are multiplied based on the type of race - Double Points for Qualifiers and Triple Points for the Final Event. There are no points awarded for Amateur Open races.

Rider points are awarded based on the finish position in Qualifying rounds of Motos and the Main Event. Combined classes are pointed by their finish position using the points of the highest proficiency in their combined class. For example, a Novice racing an Expert would be pointed using the Expert point chart.
